Knowledge transfer between generations, customer expectations, or a new business opportunity can become a shared agenda for family members and professional management. An AI-Native family business brings the family's accumulated knowledge, the next generation's perspective, and management capabilities together around that agenda. AI is used to evaluate information and develop options without replacing that accumulated knowledge.

Where do you begin?

  • First — identify the need the company wants to address together. Choose tools to suit that need. Responsibility for decisions remains with family members and management.

How do you work together?

The Sprint Leader and the team first work on the thinking capability relevant to the topic. They then use the relevant AI tools to address the company's actual agenda. Workshops and sprints for family businesses last three hours. The Mini MBA is a program made up of separate modules.

What are the scope and output?

The topic and expected output are clarified together at the outset. Depending on the topic, the work produces an opportunity assessment, a comparison of options, or a tangible business output. A team development report is also part of the sprint. The scope does not include managing family relationships or consulting on a family constitution.

Ask yourself

  • Around which business need can family members and professional management come together?
  • How can past experience and the next generation's perspective contribute to this agenda?
